The 1st recipient of the Dynamite Pete Days Community Spirit Award was given posthumously honoring Patsy Sawyer.

Patsy graduated from Louisville High School in 1960. She married James Sawyer at the First Christian Church in Louisville. The couple raised their three children, Jim, Jr., Brad and Rhonda, in Louisville.

Patsy was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Louisville where she previously served on the Church Board. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #353, Royal Neighbors of America, helped organize the Annual Louisville Alumni Banquet, served on the Louisville Library Board and was a member of a local Book Club.

Patsy enjoyed being part of the Louisville Community and sharing her time and talents in any way she could.

Patsy’s honoree proceeds were directed to the Louisville American Legion Auxiliary!

Patty Hibler has been a resident of the Louisville community since 1983.

Patty has been a lifelong contributor of community service through her efforts as part of the Louisville Methodist Church, Boy Scouts Pack 353, Louisville Lions PTO, Election Polling Site Inspector, Scholastic Book Fairs, Louisville Library Board, Louisville Car Show, Dynamite Pete Days … and more!

Patty currently serves as President on the Louisville Library Foundation Board and is Vice President of the Louisville Care Center Board.

Patty has elected for her honoree proceeds be directed to the Louisville Public Library.

Jerry & Candy are lifelong residents of Louisville, it’s where they made their home & raised their two sons

Jerry has been a little league & Legion baseball coach, a member of the the Louisville City Council since 2010 and is currently Council President.

Candy has served as Cub Scout Den Leader, a member & past president of Louisville Music Boosters, member of the Library Board, Public Library Foundation & Planning Commission. Sheserved on Louisville Care Center Advisory Board for over 20 years, most recently as Chairman.

Jerry & Cindy have both supported the Louisville VFD for more than 40 years. Cindy as a member of the Auxiliary. Jerry as a licensed EMT, who has held the offices of Rescue Captain, President, Chief and currently the Deputy Chief. Together they served at Immanuel Lutheran Church, both as Youth Group Sponsors. Jerry has served as catechism teacher, member of their Board of Education, Board of Trustees & is currently a member of the Board of Elders. Cindy is a member of the Ladies Evening Fellowship group & has served as an organists for 42 years.

Jerry & Candy elected for their honoree proceeds to be distributed evenly between the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department & the Louisville Library Foundation.
